Our Nose and paw balm is designed to protect your Dog’s paw pads and nose from the great outdoors! We use hemp oil in our balm which helps to alleviate dry and painful skin, the balm is entirely safe if your dog does happen to lick it off! A dog’s paw pads and nose can get sore at anytime of the year, however the summer and winter months hold the biggest impact.
- The summer months often means the pavements become hell for your dog. While it is advised to avoid walking your dog during the middle of the day, it can still be hot and uncomfortable throughout the day. We recommend you stay out of the midday sun, check the ground with your hand before walking (if it’s hot for you, it’s also hot for your dog) and stick to grassier routes. Moisturise the paws after the walk to prevent the paw pads from becoming dry and cracked.
De-icing products such as road salt and grit are one of the biggest potential danger to your dog’s paws. Not only is walking on grit and salk uncomfortable, but they also contain a chemical de-icing product that can lead to chemical burns on the skin if exposed to prolonged contact.
- Ice balls forming between the pads and toes of the feet and clinging to the surrounding hair can also be very uncomfortable for your dog and potentially lead
- to ice burns. Always check for ice balls and remove them, and check the paws over for ice balls while out walking.
- During the winter many of experience dry, cracked and sensitive skin, and this is no different for dogs.
